So, we're starting to see the promise of the coming summer months are we not?
Well, to be honest, no... It’s still snowing. The pavements are covered with ice and everyone is passing the flu around the office. What better time to plan a weekend trip away with the girls? I have planned a trip in May with a group of my girl friends. Not far from home, but far enough to have a relaxing time of it. So, here’s my take on the Swedish Summer trend as a capsule weekend wardrobe with key pieces that will take you right through to fall.
Daytime Look #1
This is a comfortable, yet stylish look perfect for daytime. Whether you're taking a walk around the shops, watching a movie or simply having lunch with friends, it is perfect. The flat boots will make sure you can walk around all day without throbbing feet!
Polka Dot Top - Club Monaco - $125 (approx)
A-Line Skirt - Gap - $54.50
Evening Look #1
This is a casual evening look, perfect for lounging around with friends, catching up on gossip. The flowing dress allows you to be comfortable with no restricting waistbands! Perfect for late night snacking with friends!
Daytime Look #2
A more dressed-up daytime look in a neutral colour palette. The faded wash jeans complement the florals of the scarf and the tan tones of the jacket and bag.
Evening Look #2
Again, a slightly more dressed-up night time outfit. The tones all work well together to make a perfectly on trend piece with items that mix and match perfectly with other items in your wardrobe.
Total Cost = $805.99
I understand this is not the cheapest collection, however there are a few key pieces that will take you through a few seasons. The boots and jacket will span through into early fall and spring 2011. To save a few pennies there are also cheaper versions of these items. I love this boots from Aldo for only $90.99 (saving over $100 on the Banana Republic boots I chose for this collection). Also Smart Set is advertising Buy One Get One 50% of at the minute. Perfect for the purchase of the jacket and bag!
